Glock 26 vs Colt Pocket 9

The Glock 26 is a great little pistol. But I recent saw the Colt Pocket 9 and the Glock looks BIG next to this tiny alloy frame. What do you think, is Colt worth anything now days or should I just pass the Pocket 9?

The Colt Pocket Nine HAD potential IF Colt would have spent the time to refine it and get the bugs out of it but unless they start to re-introduce their products, that ain't gonna happen.

Why is there any question?? You already have the perfect CCW pistol. IMHO the tradeoff of four extra rounds for a little bit smaller is not acceptable.

Yeah, I got a permit to carry,it's called the friggin Constitution.---Ted Nugent

"Glock 26: 17 rounds of concealed carry DEATH comming your way from out of nowhere!!! THAT'S FIREPOWER, BABY!!!"

I should have mentioned, I agree with Bongos, for deep concealment, the Kahr MK9 beats the Glock 26 hands down. I carry the MK9 a majority of the time but I WOULD have preferred the Pocket Nine over both guns IF Colt ever got it to work right. Just my $0.02 worth.

You've already got the most reliable CCW 9mm out there. The MK9s are having some problems shooting reloads and are little bricks in your pocket. That's why people dump them. I had a Kahr E9 and flipped it for a Glock 26.

Dimensions are only one facet of a good CCW gun. It must also be reasonabley light. Thta's why I prefer polymer pistols.

For CCW guns, it should be compact and light. If not, you may not carry it, then its just a paperweight in your gun safe and you're not safe then are you?

Anyway, the Colt Pocket 9 looks fine BUT it's trigger is as gritty as sandpaper. AND what support are you going to get from a company that's left its civilian market out in the cold? And what about parts?

BTW - The Colt Pony Pocketlite and the Pocket 9 will print even with a good holster. I tried them out with Dockers.

Anyway, I talk to many of our law enforcement training officers and reps at the companies and the ranges and the agency policies are showing that many cops are dumping their Colts for KT P-32s.

Their primary is their G17/19/22/23 with backup being a Glock 26/27 and the last ditch guns were Seecamps, Guardians, Airweights, Pocketlites, and now P-32s.

Quit your dreaming. Gaston hasn't and won't let us down. Keep your Glock 26 and be happy. ;)

The thing that the PN offered that the otherwise excellent Kahrs don't is an alloy frame. The P9 is the right idea, but too big for this class. What would be very interesting would be a poly-frame MK9; that would fill the hole that the PN left quite nicely.

JNewell, the MP9 is at least a year away if not two. Some have taken to buying a P9 and creating a P9 Convert by chopping off the grip so that it will take the MK9 mags.

JNewell, something else that the Pocket Nine offered was a repeat striker capability which the other ones don't have and a concealed, but still visible, hammer.

Somebody should take that gun, get the bugs out of it and build it out of titanium -- not THAT would be the ultimate pocket 9mm (Taurus? Are you listening?)
