Glock 23 to "32" conversion help from fellow Glockers

I have some questions about the conversion.

1. What aftermarket barrel brand will give me a drop in fit without gunsmithing? Can I trust my life with this brand?
2. Since .357sig is a hotter load (I think), what pound recoil spring should I go to?
3. Can Glock 32 mags fit in a 23 WITHOUT any problems?
4. Can the slide (made for a .40) take the recoil and abuse of the .357sig?

I want to have the versatility of switching between the two calibers. Two guns for the price of one. Thanks!

As I understand, the slides for the 23 and 32 (.357 Sig) are identical. The recoil springs are also identical. Pre-ban mags is .40 will work perfectly with .357 Sig ammo. I've heard of some problems with the 10 rnd mags in forty. The factory mags. in .357 Sig. will work in your 23.

The Federal barrels are pretty much drop-in. The one possible problem with the conversion would be your frame. If you have the newer frame with the finger grooves, you can safely make the switch. These models have the reinforced frames. The older non-grooved frames are not reinforced. The older models can be converted but eventually you'll batter the front lugs on the frame. Don't take my word. Go to Glock Talk and ask around. I had a Glock 23 and considered the conversion. But, that was awhile ago so ask around. JohnH

Spirex,

If you have the older style 23, you can not make the change. The gun can't take it and may very well blow up!

But if you have the new 23, just go to Glock Miester on the internet and buy a Glock M32 barrel (manufactured by Glock, not aftermarket). It will just drop right in.

I bought a new modle Glock 27 and a Glock modle 33 barrel from Glock miester ($125).

The gun shoots in the exact same place with either barrel, and it's a simple swap to change callibers.

BTW, Glock 40 mags handle 357 sig just fine, but not the other way around. I bought two more m27 mags from Glockmiester with the pierce +1 (gave me a legal 10 rounds).

The entire package is safe and functions perfectly.

Hope I helped.
