I wanna get either one of these next week and i havent had the chance to shoot either yet . i own a Glock in 9mm and am somewhat pleased i want a 40 though .. what do you guys think

I'd go with a Glock 19. You're already familiar with the Glock manual of arms. You probably already have holsters, etc for it. And the Glock 19 is world-class.. one of the best 9mm's in the world and arguably the best Glock made.

I have two SIGs a P220 .45 and P229 9mm and find them to be very fine handguns. I suspect you would do well with a P229 in .40 caliber, but if you are happy with your 9mm Glock it might make sense to simply get the G23. However, even though I own a Glock G20 in 10mm and am in no way anti-Glock I do feel the SIGs are a little more refined.

I don't know how we can pretend to be able to answer this question for you. Any of them will work fine, but Sigs and Glocks are totally different from each other. What's the purpose of the gun? What features/characteristics do you prefer? DA/SA hammer-fired or constant-pull striker-fired? Metal frame or polymer frame? The bore axis of Sig and Glock pretty much anchor the opposite ends of the spectrum.
