Glock 23 or HK USPc?

I'm considering one of these two pistols, which would be the better choice?

How do they compare in terms of shot to shot recovery, recoil, accuracy, ect.

Also, are the firing pin springs still a problem w/ the HK?
How's their customer svc. & parts availability?

Lastly, what USP variant allows for cocked n' locked carry, & has ambi. controls?

Any other .40's I should consider? Beretta, Sig?

Thanks in advance, JNB01

Pretty much a no brainer if you ask me--USP40c.

Correct manual of arms, accurate, durable, and well made. Over a thousand rounds through mine without a hitch.

Wear it well...

I have a G23 and USPc 9mm. Both are excellent guns. My biggest problem with the USPc in .40 is that you can't get hi-caps. They were never made. However, you can occassionally find 13 round USPc 9mm mags. Even still, Glock 23 mags hold 13 rounds, and LEO USPc .40 mags hold 12. Edge to the Glock by one round.

Other than that, both are well made and accurate. Trigger is a matter of preference. I find that the Glock is a little more streamlined and easier to carry. Of the two, I'd go Glock.

It's pretty hard to beat a G23 for an all around "do everything" pistol...I just traded one in not too long ago on a Walther P99 in 40...Big mistake...the Walther jammed like crazy...Anyway...I just put a deposit on a "LNIB" HK USP 40c in Stainless...pretty damn sweet !! Both guns are super reliable & accurate...The Glock may be easier to conceal though...What the hell...get both...:)

All USPs can be carried cocked-and-locked unless it has been modified from the standard "Variant 1." Used police USPs are usually modified this way, but the NIB USPs are ready to go.

The USP has ambidextrous magazine release, but the safety needs to be modified by a gunsmith to be left-handed, or ordered that way.

Firing pins haven't been a problem with H&K's for a long time. They're pretty beefy.

Comparing the two, I felt the Glock in .40 felt as big and had as much recoil as the .45, so I'd opt for a Glock 30 over the 23. The USP40c felt comparable to the Glock 23.

I have a H&K 40 compact variant #1 as my daily carry pistol right now. The only thing I added was a Hogue grip and Trijicon night sights. I carry it hammer down safety on... this works well for me, Your mileage may vary.

Both compete for being the sturdiest gun around.

Safety configuration's a matter of personal preference.

You can't go wrong with either. Hmmmm....

Buy both!:D

I would be biased since I own the G23 and haven't even handled the HK compact. That said, I'd recommend the G23. Totally streamlined, reliable, accurate, indestructable, simple, and better priced. Leather is probably a little easier to find, same with custom parts and such.

Regards.
