Glock 23 for Sig 225. Good Trade?

I have a G23, less than a year old, prob 150 rounds thru it, with P-T night sights. I really don't care for the way the finger
groves hit my hand, and the .40 is a bit expensive for me to shoot. I held a Sig 225 the other day in the store and fell in love.
The dealer kind of owes me a favor, so he said he would swap me for a NIB 225, K-Kote, trijicons, and 3 magazines flat out even. I really like this Sig. He also said that if I didn't want to trade, he would sell it to me at his cost of $409, plus
shipping. Sell the Glock separately, or trade straight up???? Anyone want a Glock 23 in Southern IN?

13 rounds of .40 or 8 rounds of 9mm.... hmm. Tough decision ;) Get what you like, but I really don't like the 225. I only like the 229, 232, and 228. For that much money, i like a higher round count or a more compact pistol.

I sure wish I had a Sig laying around the house... I'd swap ya! It's a good deal. Wish I had $410 to offer you for the Glock!

If the 23 just doesn't fit you well or isn't the "gun for you" than go ahead and trade it. The 225 is a great gun and you'd be getting a real good deal for an even up trade. When the recent batch of 225's appeared (K-Kote, Night sites, 3 mags), dealer cost on them was around $400 and alot of dealers were price gouging them for $525+. You can't go wrong with the 225, I have two of them. Let us know what you do.

Trade it.

Sounds like you already answered your own question about what to do. You don't care for the Glock (and the caliber), so why keep it?

Get the Sig, you will not be disappointed.

As Ben stated above, the Glock has a lot more firepower. But if you don't like it, it's not the gun for you. I'd check a few other guns out, but if you still like the 225 (which I personally don't care for), I say go for it.

Opie,

I'd make that trade in a heartbeat. No questions asked. SIG 225 is one of THE BEST production pistols of all time! If you want more "fire power", simply carry two spare mags. That'll give you 25 rounds that you can stoke w/Corbons if you want 115gr @ 1350 fps published velocity. Two single stack mags are far more comfortable than one double column mag for in the waist band carry.

I'd get one or the other since the glock point of aim is much different from the SIGS. You'll want to have similar grip angles in your collection if you are going to use them all for defense. The glock is a fine gun, but that SIG is precious.

BTW, Would you mind asking your dealer where he's ordering that 225 from? I'd like to get another at THAT price!!! equalizerplus@netscape.net Yeeeeeedaaaawgies!
