Glock 22C barrel erosion?

My brother recently bought a Glock 22C. It is .40 s&w in caliber, and has a 4.5" factory compensated barrel. He has shot approximately 350 rounds through it.

The barrel is quite shiny, except for a patch at the bottom of the barrel, near the bore, in front of the compensation cuts. This patch looks much rougher in comparison. We are unsure whether or not that rough area was there when the pistol was new. What is the cause of this rougher looking area in the bore? Is this from the barrel compensation cuts? Any feedback would be great. Thanks in advance.

I'm not 100% sure how Glock cuts it's ports, but if it's a saw (or milling device), is there a chance that it went in a little too deep and struck the inside of the barrel... or if it's a lazer method, is there a chance they let the lazer run just a fraction of a second too long?

Who knows. I have some rough spots inside my Beretta Jetfire, but it doesn't seem to effect anything. It looks like erosion however.

But it still shoots,
Ben
