Glock 22 recoil spring problem?

A fellow shooter let me shoot his Glock 22 last thursday; first time that I've fired a Glock. I asked how reliable the pistol was. He said the only problem he's had with it, is the rear of the recoil spring jumping out of its seating. Is this a common problem?
(I advised him to take it back to where he bought it)
 
Thanks...that did occur to me, but I didn't really get an opportunity to look at it myself, and I'm not at all familiar with Glocks. I'll pass this on to the Glock guy.
