Glock 20 jam problem

Yes, a glock that jams...

2nd gen G20 with the short style ejector. It does not jam all the time, maybe once every mag or every 2 mags. The spent shell gets ejected, the new round hangs up on the upper part of the bbl.

Like I said, it does not happen all the time, I can shoot 2 mags, then on the 3rd mag somewhere in the middle it jams, or it can be the 1st mag and jam up.

Any Ideas....It was bought used, so its not a big deal, I can rid myself of it and get a 3rd gen, but I prefer glocks without finger grooves.

Two thoughts; does it happen only with one particular magazine? If so, the lips have probably been opened up so that they're holding the rounds at the wrong angle. Second, one of the best things about Glocks is that the parts are dirt-cheap and are essentially "drop in"; I'd drop by a local GSSF match, and have the match armourer look at it (this is a free service); they'll make sure the proper up-to-date parts are installed. http://www.gssfonline.com/

I would say maybe improper extractor tension. Since you say it ejects fine but fails to properly feed into battery often, it could be indicitive of too much tension. If it were too litle, you would instead have ejection problems with the spent casings. Dirty chamber can also contribute to this problem though too.

Take a look at your magazine release. I had a similar problem caused by an aftermarket (pierce grip) extender causing excessive rub on the mag release. It allows the mag to sit a little lower in the frame. $5 part or something. Really cheap.

Field strip it to check, you will be able to see from the top if it's got excessive wear. I think there is an aftermarket steel release but I didn't bother.
