Glock 19

Just went down to the gunshop and started the paperwork on a Glock 19. Rented one the other day and really like the way that thing shoots. Accurate as a son of a gun. What's a good hollow point to run through it?

ANY... It's a Glock. :D

My favorites are Nyclads and Triton QuikShoks. You should be able to get 67 other opinions on this one... at least.

124 gr. Speer Gold Dots. I like the fact that the jackets are bonded to the lead core to prevent jacket separation.

Proload 124 grain +P Gold Dot.
Proload 115 grain +P+ Gold Dot.
Winchester 127 grain +P+ Ranger Talon .
Winchester 115 grain +P+ Ranger.

Anything as already expressed. I like 124 Speers and 115 Win Silvertips. The G17, G19, and G26 are so friggin perfect with any jacketed bullets that you will never be dissapointed.

I have a G17 for the range and a G19 for everyday. Superior weapons that will eat what ever you feed them (no lead bullets though!).

I've never fed anything through my G19 it didn't digest. I like Speer Gold Dots in 124gr. +P, personally, but the G19 will work 100% with anything that says "9mm Luger" on the box.

I bought some of Georgia Arms Sheer-Power-Plus 124gr 9mm+Ps in bulk a while back. They're consistant (accurate) and I couldn't be happier. GA uses starline brass instead of pretty nickel plated cases, but who really cares.

I am curious though, are those using 127gr Ranger SXTs in the law enforcement field or have friends in the field that supply them with the load? I have been trying to land a box or two for testing but can't find them for the life of me.

I like any of the good 124gr +P rounds, like Rem Golder Sabre or Speer Gold Dot. ProLoad makes some really good stuff, I'm told. The Glock will handle the hottest 9mm ammo with ease... even NATO subgun ammo. I stay away from 147 grain ammo... not convinced that it's the best choice of weight vs velocity.

As an alternative, I've heard/read some great things about Federals new 9mm +P EXPANDING POINT. FMJ 124GR. Has: LEAD CORE WITH SILICONE TIP
BELOW A FULL METAL JACKET. find it at www.ammoman.com. The silicon plug both keeps fabric (like heavy winter clothing) from clogging the hollowpoint, and preventing or inhibiting expansion, and it solves the problem of the NO hollowpoint ban come fascist states like NJ have (Europe too). The plug is driven rearward and flattens, and the scored jacket expands like a HP round, with very good expansion diameters. FWIW.

I seem to be the odd man out here, but I prefer the 124gr Remington Golden Saber.

Not to worry denfoote, I too prefer the 124gr Golden Sabers... You are refering to the +P variety aren't you? If not, then you are indeed odd man out. :D

My Glock 19 is not fussy, any decent ammo will work just fine. I personally like the Speer 124g +P Gold Dots.
