Glock 19 Gen II from Aim Surplus

I picked up my Glock 19 Gen II LE trade in from Aim Surplus today. It seems that Aim gets these in periodically, but I usually miss out. I was pretty happy with the quality. It was $359 plus $15 shipping for a total of $374 with one magazine. It was pretty dirty, but had minimal wear, and the barrel looks new. They still have some 17s in stock, but sold out of the 19s pretty quick. I've got to do something about the stiff trigger, and maybe replace the sights, and I think I'll have a good shooter. Thought I'd post up some photos for anyone interested, since the Gen II's are getting harder to find.

Congratulations & shoot it in good health!

Heck, the fact that it's dirty just means you have a good excuse to break it down and fiddle with it. :D

In my experience police trade-ins and military surplus are generally the best deals out there. They tend to be durable dependable weapons which have been carried a lot and not shot very much. I commend the OP on his excellent purchase! :)

While always a source of debate, the Gen 2 are seen as the best of the 19s. I have one that I bought at a refurbished re-sale for a good price. It's been pretty solid for a few years.

I don't care that it doesn't have a rail, so what.

Back in the day,I began a lifetime affair with Glock,by buying a used Gen2.Never knew how one great gun could influence a lifetime of shooting.Good choice!:D

I picked one of them up in October. Paid for hand picked but it didn't look that good. Yours looks almost new.

About the trigger, they have the NY-2 12 pound trigger springs in them. I changed mine out ASAP.

Yea, I've never had any luck using the hand pick option. I've tried it in the past and guys always post photos of non-hand picked guns that look better than mine. This time I didn't use it and got lucky.

You are definitely right about the trigger. I'd say 12 pounds would be optimistic. I've got a Ghost kit ordered.

Hmm.... if I could find a good condition used 9mm Glock, that would be a great "car gun." My budget will be closer to $300, though.

The PhaseIII correction appears on my Gen3 19 since new. I thinks the fix was done on the fly on prior 19's because of the NYPD.

I've handpicked two and was pretty happy. Since it is out of one case or a specified number of guns, you won't necessarily get a great gun, but you probably won't get a real dog either.

What are the benefits over the Gen 3s? Would you say that holds for 17s and 26s also, or is there something specific about the 19s? One of the reasons I'm not jumping on it is I'vm thinking wait until there are some Gen 3s available. I do think the finger grooves help with recoil on my sub-compact even if they aren't in the perfect position.

A friend and I have been talking about getting Glocks.

I've actually been talking about it for a few years, but have never pulled the trigger, so to speak.

Might be time.

Not sure if I'd want a 17 or a 19...

I am always thinking about getting one of these but at $374 with shipping + 40 for the transfer + 30 for an extra mag it makes little sense once I consider that a new one goes for $529 at my FFL.

Yeah, I talked to my friend, and he made the same argument.

I think I'll just keep my eye out at a gun show...

I'm not all that hot to have a Glock, never have been, and I have more than enough 9mms...

My G27 gen3 was my first "true gun" as my only experience before that was a Ruger MKIII. As such, it has sentimental value to me and probably will never sell it. Thousands of rounds and never a failure. Always wanted the G19 and still do.

Some folks, including myself, found that the Gen 3 finger groves and grip textures didn't work for them. Interestingly, the Gen 4 17 grips are fine with me.

Congrats on the Gen 2 Glock - what a great pistol.

I bought mine new in the early 90s and it was my first center fire auto loading pistols. Over the years I bought other pistols and my Glock 19 sat in the safe. I just recently took it to the range and wow what a great shooter. I just ordered an Ozark kydex IWB holster for it.

Yea if I had to pay that much for the transfer, it would kill the deal. This gun was $359 + $15 shipping for a total of $374. I'm lucky in that since I'm a member of my local range, they do the transfers for free, so $374 was my total price.

I picked up a couple of genuine Glock mags from Natchez for $19 each.
