Glock 17 Gen4 vs Glock 26 Gen4 grip

Does anyone find that the grip angle/position is different on the G17 vs the G26? I traded my G26 for a G17 today and found that the grip is much more suitable on the 17.

I'm going to try to put this into words. On the 26, the "hump" in the grip of the 26 was in a place for me that made it more difficult to get a good reach to the trigger. I have small hands, so this was an issue.

On the 17, the "hump" isn't in a place that affects the trigger reach, so I can maintain a better shooting grip and trigger placement.

Does anyone else notice this?

Well yes, that's definitely the case, given the much shorter dimensions of the grip.

I find the G17 to be the most comfortable for me for sure. The G19 comes in a very close 2nd with an undercut trigger guard. Without it, it doesn't fit well at all. The G26 is kind of similar to that. Needs an undercut trigger guard to work for me, but after that it's just fine.

I definitely can see that. I don't find the G26 problematic but you're right that the hump is being realized in a shorter space.

Thanks all. I thought I was just a bit loony for a second. It all worked out anyways.

Oddly enough I find that the G17 isn't really too difficult to conceal anyways. It's definitely more shootable and I have more rounds on tap. No loss IMO.

The G17 is far more comfortable for my arthritic hands.....and I haven't found concealment to be a real problem.

Exactly why I switched from a G26 to a G 17....several months ago.

The back strap humps definitely differ between models. I find the G17 awkward, the G19 preferrable, and the G26 in the Goldilocks spot. Different hand dimensions are, I am sure, the explanation. Most people seem to prefer the G17, but the number of people who find the other sizes more comfortable are significant minorities, judging from other conversations like this one.

I usually carry the G26. My wife and I do a lot of arcade games in the summer where I'm bent over a lot and I do a lot of driving so the longer grip gets annoying. But if you can carry it no problem then yea no reason not to.

I even found a difference between the g26 and the g43. I find the g43 much more comfortable to hold and shoot, but the profiles of the two pistols are almost identical.

Personally the glock 21 doesnt fit me at all, however the 30/30sf fit perfectly. I dont find a big difference in the 9mm/40s&w glock grips: 19/26 or 23/27.

I find the Gen 3 G26 nestles right into my palm, with the hump right in the hollow of the palm. The G17 fits my hand fine, and is also a natural pointer for me.
While I've carried the 17, and it's quite do-able, the G26 is a superb carry.

For me, the 17 is light compared to my CZ-85B and it pretty much the same size.

I am thin and carry IWB so the extra dimensions are covered.
