    2. Copyright law provides for “fair use” of portions of a copyrighted work. You can copy no more than a SINGLE paragraph from the article to your post (3 or 4 sentences at most).

    3. You must provide a link to the article along with the name of website. For example: ww.xxx.yyy/zzz (The Lower Thumbsuck Daily News).

    4. You must provide, in your own words, a brief summary of the article AND your reasons for believing it will be of interest to TFL members. Failure to do so may result in the thread being closed or your post being deleted as a “cut and paste drive by.”

    5. Photographs and other images are also copyrighted. "Hotlinking" of images (so that it appears in your message) from other sites is also prohibited unless you own rights to the image. If you wish to share an image, provide a clickable link to it.

Posts that do not follow these new guidelines will be altered or deleted by staff. Members who continue to violate this policy may lose their posting privileges at TFL.

glitch in my private messages

Hi guys. My private messages say:

Unread 65535, Total 47.

I only have 22 messages in my inbox, and I don't think I've mailed 65,000 out.

:)

That's just *slightly* over the limit on private messages (by about 65,000).

Try logging out, then delete your cookies and log back in. Let us know if the glitch persists.

I always delete all cookies, temporary files and history every time I close my browser. I just tried it again, and it still says I have 65535 private messages.
It's somewhat amusing.

I can't figure why it's doing that. It's a glitch of some kind.

You may have to email Tyme and ask about it.

Sorry I couldn't help. :(

Since 65535 is 16^4 and is the size of an "unsigned short integer" in programming languages. That would be the appropriate size to use for tracking small numbers like PM counts. I'm pretty sure that is the result of an uninitialized register. Probably happened when the data base when kablooey.

On a hunch, I have sent you a test message. Don't read it, but check your statistics to see what they are set to. Then open the message and check again.

Must be a glitch created during database repair. Either that or vb broke the counter.

Two other people had that problem. Unread messages count should be zero now.
