Let Al and Jesse sit in a room and make a list of all the words they don't think should be said.

Then let's make these words illegal to say in a public forum.

Let Al and Jesse figure out what should be done to anyone who says these words. Get them fired, boycott them, jail or pay a fine? It will be up to them but it can only be one thing.

Once the list of illegal words comes out, here is what will happen:

There will be a lot of black rappers, comedians and political figures being punished to.

BET and MTV won't be allowed to play any gangsta rap

Def comedy jam will no longer be able to air unless Bill Cosby is the only one on the show

In the end, hypocrites like Al and Jesse will be out of a job because they will have to punish THE PEOPLE and that won't go so well.

Jackson is a race baiting extortionist; Sharpton is a hate monger who still, to this day, says he supports the Tawana Brawley lies allegding abuse by white cops, and still the media gives these guys credibility. Who put them in charge of black America? What gives them the right to speak for African Americans? The media is rascist to its core, by giving these bigots the public platform to spew their venom. Why not call on responsible black leaders who will not spend their time and energy on this stupid Imus issue, but instead try to improve conditions for black Americans in a positive way.

Wow.... Just... Wow....

You have a lot of thinking and self-analysis to do.

In the meantime, a quote from the show, South Park:

"What, so you're saying that Jesse Jackson is the emporer of all black people?"

I don't recall anyone saying that either Jackson or Sharpton spoke for all black americans. What they were being critical of are two of the biggest hypocrites in the world that have more racist tendencies in their pinky finger than Imus has in his whole body.

I don't listen to Imus, don't know much about him, and really don't care about this whole thing. However what I do find funny are 2 things.

1) if the phrase nappy headed ho is so offensive, why have I heard it all day long over the past 2 days on every major news network

2) why is it one guy will potentially lose his job for using these words, but other people make millions of dollars using these words

This is O/T,

and rapidly headed beyond the bounds of propriety, as this community has tended to define them.

It's not my site, and I don't make the rules, but there is a line, and this thread skirts it, if it doesn't cross it.

It's not my call, but don't be surprised if this gets locked and the O/P gets a nastygram from the Admins.

I certainly don't believe this topic is out-of-bounds if people behave themselves. It is certainly a political issue which bears discussing, if everyone will work at keeping it civil. Right now it is simply addressing the double standard which many in the political arena are very adept at utilizing to their own benefit.

I have to agree with Shannon. This is really not on topic for this forum. It has more to do with sociology than Legal or Political issues.

No nastygram from this admin, though. :) Just closing the thread.
