Giuliani?

Got a fundraising letter from Rudy's senatorial election campaign. Initially I didn't know why they sent it to an Idahoan, but on reflection it's clear Hillary's election to the Senate would affect every citizen in the U.S. Given that, I'm considering sending Rudy a nominal donation just to at least help fight against her. Two questions:

1 - Think he'll stay in? Nasty stuff, that prostate cancer.

2 - What's his position on RKBA?

If they caught it early enough, it should be very treatable. I'm not nuts about Rudy by any means, but let's face it, if Hillary Clinton is elected to the Senate you better get religion fast, because that has got to be a sure sign of the Apocolypse.

Rudy is an Anti. He is no friend of RKBA.

However, he is far better than the alternative. We cannot afford to let Hillary gain office.

A real case of the lesser of two evils

Rudy may drop out of the race. He is supposed to make a statement one way or the other come late May. Wait and see if he decides to stay in the race before you send him any money. If he drops out of the race, he can keep all of the millions of dollars of campaign money that he has already raised. That plus the fact that the Republicans may be pressuring him to drop out, because of his poor showing in the polls, makes me think he will in fact drop out.

Whoever his replacement is, will need all the money we can give them at that time to even come close to catching Hillary.

Good Evening All-

A successful ascension to become Senator of New York by Hillary Clinton would be traumatic to the entire country.

Regardless of where you live, if she is elected, it shows the populace that we "live in the world of sound bites" and that substance and integrity have gone out the window.

NRAlife, I'm puzzed by your notion that Rudy Giuliani is not doing well in the polls. Here's a recent article from CNN: Rudy]http://www.cnn.com/2000/ALLPOLITICS/stories/05/01/nypoll.reut/index.html]Rudy Giuliani & Hillary Clinton in statistical tie, despite cancer annoucement.

Generally speaking, news about serious or chronic conditions don't augur well for a politician. Once that nightmare-of-a-candidate Bill Bradley announced that he had heart irregularities...his campaign went right down the drain. If Rudy Giuliani is treated promptly and successfully, he can enjoy a long life and may continue with his run for the Senator's seat.

I hope to God that the residents of New York State can see through her transparent efforts to be a "New Yorker."

At all cost Hillary needs to be kept out of office. If she wins her next step will be running for President.

If she does she will win. Liberals and woman from all facets of life will vote for her.

As a resident of NYS I will be doing my best to donate time and effort to the Guliani campaign. Rather, the anti-Hillary campaign. Shooters and hunters are not keen on Rudy but he is the lesser of two evils. Hopefully we can educate Rudy to at least give lip service to the Second Amendment and restrain him from passing registration and confiscation legislation. You know that the future Queen of America is going to bad bad news.

As the letter to 72Bronco shows, this is a race that is drawing money in from all over the US. And as you all realize, yes it is that important.

nralife,

What poor showing in the polls? Right now the race is too close to call. Hillary is the one who is doing worse than expected. Since polls seem to overstate Democrat numbers by about 5% Rudy could win handily this year. Granted a New York conservative is an Idaho liberal, but the important thing here is to sweep away the last vestiges of the "Clinton Legacy." The best way to do that is to defeat Algore and Hillary. Willie was joking earlier this week that Republicans only had eight more months to investigate him. Guess again, Bill.

Bam Bam is right; we're all affected by the outcome of that race. If he stays in, I'm definitely going to contribute.

Maybe we ought to get a list of anti-2nd congressional and senatorial candidates in the 50 states and encourage folks to support (unfortunately, that means send cash) their pro-2nd opponents. Doesn't the NRA have such a profile of the candidates running for office?

Thank God mine are SOLIDLY pro-2nd.

Rudy is no friend of the 2nd ammendment. But the alternative is so awful that I don't even want to think about it.

My question:

How will Hilary keep from answering any press questions for the entire campaign?
We know she considers any criticism unacceptable.

Blue Jays,
TBeck,

Running dead even with the wicked witch of the west wing is not doing good in the polls. With all of Hillary's bagage, one would think that Rudy would be WAY ahead. The Zogby polls are very accurate. I wouldn't count on any 5 percent fudge factor. I hope Rudy wins, all I said was that before you send him any money, make sure that he is going to stay in the race. That's all. :)

nralife,

I respectfully disagree. New York has elected Pat Moynihan and Chuckie Schumer to the Senate. The fact that Rudy is doing as well as he is is reassuring. The NY race was expected to be a slam dunk for Hillary. It is turning into anything but. There are enough conservatives or people just fed up with the Clintons to make the race interesting. I'm not saying that Rudy will win because it is too close to call. But I will give Rudy credit for waging a better election effort than anyone expected.

Recently Hillary did a live CNN blurb with Wolf Blitzer at the University of Buffalo. All the questions were screened, and I believe the audience was also. In the photo for the school paper the auditorium was mostly empty. Don't be worried. She and the media managers can't control things that tightly for the next 6 months. After the NYS Republican Convention look for the volcano to start to smoke. The anti-carpetbagger feelings are pretty strong.

I am not sure about the candidates rankings as pro/anti in this link; but you if you are a NYS resident (or just curious) this is a good site to read up on pending bills etc. I did some mailings for them earlier.

They got a mention on NPR as a "powerful lobbying group" :)

After the convention, hopefully, Rudy will be upstate each weekend milking cows, going to county fairs, and so on. If he can be a gentleman the election will be a shoo-in. But we do gotta educate him about the Second.
