I would like to know your experiences and opinions about the Tactical2 Ghost Rings from Entreprise Arms. These are nothing more than ghost rings on a pistol. They advertised them as 500% increase in sight adquisition "according to the US Navy Seal Team 4." Thank you.
 
Noted weapon trainer Louis Awerbuck found ghost-ring pistol sights helpful for people who have trouble focusing on the front sight. Louis used a ghost-ring sight made by Steve Wickert until he finally went over to the Ashley Express sights.

Novak sights are available in a half ghost-ring arrangement, which dispenses with the top half of the ring. Basically, the sight's notch is a largish half circle. Brian Bilby www.1911custom.com does a nice modification of the Heinie SlantPro into a half ghost-ring configuration.

If it matters to you, full ghost-ring sights are not legal for IDPA competition.

I've found ghost rings on a handgun to be distracting for me and actually slow down my target acquisition (I put some on a Beretta 92 a few years ago). I think if you're already competent with your iron sights, the ghost rings are just more apparatus to get in your way. If you began with them from day one they might be a better way to go, but they don't work for an old guy like me.

By the way, how does one go about measuring a 500% increase in target acquisition?

What does Navy Seal Team 3 have to say about them?

I use an optic-fiber front / ghost-ring rear on my Caspian 1911.

I acquire the front sight (the important one) faster, and I shoot this gun more accurately than with previous sight combinations I've tried on it; Heine serrated front ramp, Heine w/sight paint, narrowed front, BoMar rear, etc etc etc...

I'll be shooting it shortly at a USPSA match (about 1.5 hour from now) and I'll let you know how it goes...lol

I had a Caspian arms ghost ring put on my Colt Combat Elite. I also had a fiber optic front sight put on too. For me, it aims quite well & my sight pick up is pretty fast. I like it.
