I know many here dislike the integrated locks on new Taurus and S&W handguns. However, there are people like me also. I don't believe that anyone should be forced to lock their weapon, but I do like it when there are different methods to do so. I like the idea of an integrated lock because it's not something that can be broken away. If I am forced to part with my weapon but I cannot secure it (such as checking it at a bar or public place), an integrated lock can assure that the weapon is not turned on me or anyone else. Again, it is all a matter of opinion - locks are here to stay wether everyone likes them or not. Let's just be glad that they are still an option.
Well I was reading a magazine this morning and I came accross an advertisement. It is for an aftermarket integrated lock that fits Glocks. Instead of a fancy key, it uses a plain jane handcuff key. I think that this is a great option for folks in law enforcement that want to use a lock as there is always a handcuff key handy. Suggested Retail Price according to the advertisement is $39.95. I haven't looked at the website yet but it is located at http://www.ghostblock.com
