Today I got together with a few TFLers even though we moved our Pennsylvania Shoot to June. I went in the rain because I had a few things I really wanted to try out and didn't want to wait. I brought my Model 70 to the range and fired a couple rounds at 100yds, BULLSEYE :D!! I dialed in my scope for 200yds and grouped a couple rounds 3inches away from the bullseye. Then "Dead" and I walked down to 300yds and set up targets. I put up a clay tablet/pigeon right on the top of the post and walked back to the benches.
"K80Geoff" spotted for me while dialed in my scope for 300yds. I pulled the trigger and here a yell YOU BARELY MISSED IT!! I dial in one click more and pull the trigger KAAAAAABOOOOOOOOOMMMM Direct hit!!! I dial the scope back in for 100yds and BULLSEYE. The Clay.....well its done Dead now and I was one Happy Dude today:D:D:D.

Thanks to Gewehr 98 and El Rojo for teaching this Amatuer about Ballistics,Range Finding and how to dial in a Scope.
Thanks Guys!!!!

Ahem!

Let us not forget WHO was spotting for you:eek:

The fact that you could still hit the clay speaks volumes about your ability with a rifle:)

Hey Dead do you vaguley remember some guy yell, and I quote "You Guys are Crazy" when we decided to put up our targets at 300yds? Well Geoff, Its all knowledge passed on from a few fellow TFLers.

Who Me!

OK Next time I will set up a man sized sillouette target at 300 yds and try to hit it with my AR using iron sights. I did it 30 years ago in the Army, I can do it again:p

I have a box of clays, I'll bring it next time, don't think the range will mind as the place is covered with clays anyway. Good idea for targets, reactive and instant gratification.

Somebody better bring a good scope.
