Getting a Hk 91 and HK 93 is this a good price?

I have always wanted an HK91 since I was small and then a HK93 as I got older and came to appreciate the 5.56.

Well I have an opportunity to purchase both, and I have the cash! Both are in very good to excellent shape.

The 91 is a IA Code A2, with Green furniture, bipod, Karl Kaps scope, claw mount, and scope case, (2) 40 round mags and (20) 20 round mags with the mag holders.

The 93 is an IC code A3 with retractable stock, bipod, bolt deflector and carry handle, with an HK hard case, and (6) 40 round mags, (1) 30 round mag and (3) 25 round mags.

Private sale, no shipping involved.

Wants $2800 for the 93 and $2500 for the 91 - would take $5000 for both OTD.

I am leaning towards doing it, what do you think? anything to look out for as a pre buy inspection?

Thanks!

Unless there's something majorly wrong the prices look good. The scope/mount combo adds about $400 to the 91, and you're getting a lot of mags (so those are cheap). If you can afford the $5k you're getting a nice deal.

Don't know if this will help, but.....
Just had a gun show here last weekend and I saw an HK91 for sale for $3800 and it looked like it had been dragged behind a truck.
Our gun shows here tend to be way overpriced for some reason though. And it just gets worse as the holidays get closer.

I think $5000 for both is a reasonable offer if they are in very good to excellent conditon plus the other goodies. If it was me I would offer $4500 cash just to see.

Agreed. I think that is a pretty good deal. I continue to kick myself for turning down a $600 HK 91 in 1986! I believe they will continue to appreciate.

You'll hate this but I once bought a G3 converted to a sniper rifle. It had a great trigger job, bi-pod, scope and claw type scope mount. I paid $411 for it in about 1984.

Check some of the other boards, like HKPRO and Sturmgewehr for pricing.

A quick check of just HKPRO seems to shows the price to be in the ballpark.

Looks like a pretty good deal. I sold an HK93 with fewer extras and got 3K for it. Go for it and enoy your new rifles!

Well the gentleman lowered the price to $4700 OTd for both.

so $2350 for each? Might be high on the 91 but not so much on the 93? Might just even out in the end.

I was at a local estate auction just last week and an excellent 93 A2 with 1 mag and nothing else sold for $2250 when all was said and done. (which included buyers premium, Nics check and 7% sales tax) And I came in second on that gun so I was the mug who bid it up.

This one has far more stuff and lots more mags and would be basically $100 more if viewed as a 50/50 split between the two.

I really need to see them first and check them out.
