Getting a break top habit.

Bought this 5-6 years ago at a local show for $100. Dealer said the action was frozen and required some work and he didn't want to mess with it. I took it home and just as I suspected the action was packed with grease that had hardened. I poured some solvent through it and it worked fine. Have to reload if you want to shoot the 38 S&W, and I do, so I find this gun a hoot. Firing DA (only choice) I can get palm sized groups at 15 yards.

Spotted this about two years ago at another show. Tagged at $165 it has some corrosion on the barrel. I had long wanted one of these H&Rs (but I really wanted the scarce 4" version). I offered $150 and it was mine.

The finish blemish doesn't seem to affect the accuracy which for an inexpensive revolver is pretty good.

Today I was at a show and saw this. Priced at $325 I gave him the classic "Make me feel like I'm getting a deal" line and he made it $300. Now I have my 4" H&R. Has some finish loss on the stocks and a small touch of corrosion just above the stock on the right side but I thought it was OK for the price. I really enjoy shooting these top break revolvers. Maybe now I'll look for this same gun in 38 S&W.

Nice collection.
My very first handgun was a .32 break top hand-me-down from my father.
An Iver Johnson, maybe.
A .22 soon followed.
Both, unfortunately are long gone.
After seeing your pictures, maybe I need another one.

Howdy

I'm afraid I am getting a Top Break habit too.

I reload for these too, I only shoot them with Black Powder.

Now if S&W just took their standard frame and action and made it a top-break, they could have some loyal fans. (Or maybe they already did that?)
