Howdy,

Newbie has a question for y'all smart guys. I been looking all over Ohio for WWII German Mauser (non Spaniard variance) - anyone knows where I can find one in a reasonably price range? I felt that they were all over the place when I was a teenage and now I have a real job but I couldn't find one.

Thank you!

Gehwehr 41 (M)

The Gewehr 41 (M) was a semi automatic design from Mauser, made in small quantities, and abandoned. It is very rare.

The competing design, the Gewehr 41 (W) made by Walther, was also made in small numbers, but was successfully developed into the G43 which was mass produced, but never came close to replacing the standard Kar98(k) bolt action.

If you actually find a G41, expect the cost to be several thousand dollars.

If what you are looking for is the standard Kar 98k bolt action, they are still out there, and while good ones are no where near as cheap and common as they used to be, they can still be had for a few hundred, or even less.
