Georgia State Senate passes "castle doctrine"

Good for Georgia. I noticed it protects you from criminal AND CIVIL prosecution if you defend yourself. Texas leaves the latter out.

I resent anything that suggest that the State "Allows" you to defend yourself. Self Defense is a fundamental God given right, it doesn't matter what the state says. If my life is threatened I'm going to defend it, even if I have to explain it to a jury. Glad that part is being eased in Georgia though and common sense is coming back around.

Georgians have never had to retreat. The new law just gives Georgians an edge against civil suits, primarily.
