OK, haven't had a Savage in a few years, but met a guy with a Lightweight hunter in .260 Rem, which made me decide I want to do this if possible:
I want the Lightweight Hunter barrel & action in .260 rem, but put inside the "Lady Hunter" stock. Not going to pay for two stocks, but is there any way that a particular distributor might have enough clout to convince Savage to do this for me, and just charge me the price of the higher one of the two (which is the lightweight hunter price)?
You'd still have a 5.75 lb bare rifle, and a really nice looking stock (the Lady Hunter one). Pretty killer rig for sub-$800 new, and surely will be a shooter.
