General shotgun question

Just purchased a Weatherby PA-459 pump shotgun, it is a choked gun. I have never owned a choked gun before and was wondering can you shoot slugs through an improved cylinder choke, Weatherby said yes, but several friends have said no. If it makes any difference, the gun uses the Berretta/Benelli chokes and has a chrome lined barrel. Thanks in advance for all replies.

Thanks to all responses, I knew that there would be some people on here that knew the true answer, thank you.

If anything, an ImpCyl choked barrel will likely shoot slugs more accurately than a plain CYL bore barrel. Just stick with rifled slugs, the sabot kind are made for rifled barrels and cost a bunch more. I've had good luck with Brenneke KO slugs out of several shotguns, and they are usually very reasonably priced.
