All in the world of NASCAR, Americas Second most popular spectator sport behind football, are saddened today. 4th generation driver Adam Petty was killed in a practice crash today in New Hampshire. When you say your prayers tonight, pray for the family. He was 19. If you ever saw an interview with him you will understand when I say; We have lost a good one, the good definantly do die young, and sometimes, life seems really unfair. :( :( :( :( :( :( :(

I thought I'd seen it all, until a 22WMR spun a bunny 2 1/4 times in the air!

This is awful news. He was a real up and comer too in Nascar. I imagine Kyle (his dad) is in bad shape right about now. Adam seemed to have a bit of a black cloud over him as I think he was the one that ran over his crew chief and killed him on a pit stop last year in a Busch race. Its a shame to see this happen, especially in the Petty family.

I stood beside of him at his Great Grandfather's funeral not more than a month ago. He really was a good kid.

They (NASCAR) really need to keep those cars off of FLAT tracks! It wasn't that long ago another friend was claimed by a flat track, John Nemechek at Homestead, Fla.

I have driven Cup cars, although not wide open. They need to stay with the high banks on tracks where they gain a lot of speed.
