General boycott of SF headquartered businesses?

Ok, as I mentioned in another thread, maybe another way to apply pressure to the SF pols and voters is to organize a boycott of businesses that are headquartered in SF or do the majority of their business or manufacturing in SF.

Does anybody have a list of such businesses, or know how to compile such a list?

Maybe a trip to the SF C of C is in order.

"I doubt they give a hoot"

No doubt, but if enough of us do that, it just might start showing up on their bottom line, and you better believe that they DO give a hoot about that.

Along with a little bit of publicity, such a campaign just might apply some much needed leverage that we can't do as voters in the region. Hey, the French noticed it back a few years ago, so why not SF?

BTW -- thanks for the link...

Defeatism Again

I doubt they give a hoot

Defeatist rhetoric again. Obviously, we have only ourselves to blame. Do you think the ACLU uses language like this as they successfully dismantle America's Christian heritage?

It is painfully obvious that the firearms rights movement needs more leaders in its membership. Aside from Barrett Rifles, who lets their employees carry at work, I know of no other corporation that is proactively friendly to us. That needs to change, and the only way to do that is work our way up the ladder.

Or are we just going to send Wayne LaPierre our money and hope for the best?

Actually we the consumer hold the key but most are so apathetic not sure
what it would take in order to have the needed results.

We need more leaders in society

My dad told me that the president of his college hunted rabbits outside his office window with his .22 back in the 1920s.

Bottom line, we need more leaders in society. How many of us have influence over large groups of people and the law, be it as attorneys, university professors, politicians, business owners, politicians or newspaper editors?

That's the only way we'll win on a regular basis.

Oh, about the defeatist rhetoric thing:

I agree, the remark was quite defeatist. And those who engage in such defeatism are doomed to defeat even before the conflict begins. I'd rather try and fail than fail to try. In the one, victory is possible, the other brings certain defeat.

Alert: That sort of defeatist attitude is why we are not prevailing -- we have the facts, we have the high moral hand, but we are doomed to defeat by our negative attitudes and our apathy.

Right gb

gb,

True true true.

We need to be sure we all come across as Bill Gates or Steven Spielberg in this whole thing. They are optimistic and influential.

How influential are we?

"Do you think the ACLU uses language like this as they successfully dismantle America's Christian heritage?"

Is that the kind of Christian heritage that used to wear a hood?
:o

I'm going to send an extra $5 to the NRA when they request their next donation. Not specifically to fight SF's gun ban; just on general principles against this kind of statist mindset.

Christian heritage...

What does that mean?

Im also puzzled as to why you feel you have the high moral hand..and what exactly morality has to do with the banning of firearms in metro SF?

In fact I dont see exactly what firearms have to do with christianity at all. I mean did Jesus pack heat? Probably not.

459:

"...and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one." - Luke 22:36

I'm pretty far from a bible beater, but old JC knew that weapons were not evil, only mislead men were evil...

Weapons (and the mind that chooses whether or not to employ their use) are the ultimate reflection of morality. A man that produces a weapon to save a neighbor from rape or his family from murder or theft is making a statement that "you, mr. BG, are in the wrong and I am so certain of that that I will kill you and explain my actions to the rest of society later for judgement."

Irony Alert

I think its wild that the guy who posted the above has this for a sig line:

""Hokey religions and ancient weapons are no match for a good blaster at your side, kid."
--Han Solo"

You guys just kill me

Nobody knows anything of what Jesus actually said. All we have is a book that's been translated by loads of different people, loads of different times, and it started out as hearsay in the first place!

How can anyone claim to have an accurate historical record of conversations, speeches and statements from over 2000 years ago, given the easy manipulation that could have taken place between then and now?

Well, I'm already boycotting Levi's over their withdrawal of support for the Boy Scouts, and I stopped using Wells Fargo years ago, because, well, if you're not west of the Rockies, they kind of suck.

Just please don't ask me to give up my Giants. I don't know if I can take that.

The bible is 100% accurate!

And, smoking cigarettes is good for you.

:p No, gents ... I use that in my signature line!

But I'd rather address the topic at hand ....

I have to agree with WA .... I also doubt any SF-based businesses really care. I also think the ban will be overturned. But I like the idea that sending an "I'll-die-before-using-your-product-you-scumbags" would pour some salt in the wound.

SF commies may not care, but we should.
