gen2 Glock 22 problem

Hello, not sure if I'm putting this in the right place or not. Anyways i have Glock 22 i bought new in 09. It has about 2000 rounds through it + or -. When shooting it fire a few rounds, return to battery and nothing when pulling trigger. If I pull the slide back and eject the round and return to battery it will fire for a few more rounds. The unfir3d rounds are good as they go back into the magazine. Anyone else experience this? If so what is the fix?

Hmmm..

Do the rounds that dont fire have good hits on the primers? I would take a SWAG that the striker channel is gummed up with old oils/solvents/carbon/crap.

A simple cleaning will fix that problem. Youtube has a bunch of vids on how to disassemble the slide and clean it properly. Its actually VERY easy.

If thats not it can you describe the problem in more detail.

The rounds that don't fire have no marks whatsoever. It almost like it chambers a round, but does not cock itself and reset the trigger for another pull.

I would clean the striker channel and firing pin block and channel. Basically give the slide a detail strip and clean.

If your not comfortable doing it, any gunsmith and most gun shoos will do this for a fee

Where are you located?

If you bought it new in '09 it's a gen 3....I'd detail strip the slide like others have said. Maybe ask someone else to shoot it too?

Does the gun click when you pull the trigger or does the trigger move without seeming to actually operate the mechanism?

If it clicks but the gun doesn't fire then it's a problem with the firing pin, the firing pin safety or fouling in the firing pin channel.

You can test the firing pin safety and verify that the channel is clean by removing the slide, holding down on the firing pin safety and shaking the slide back and forth. You should hear the firing pin clinking back and forth in the channel.

Now release the firing pin safety and shake the slide again. You should hear nothing.

If it passes that test, detail strip the slide (there are videos on youtube) and check to see that the firing pin is intact.

If it's not even clicking (like a dryfire) when you pull the trigger then it's a problem with the trigger spring, connector or trigger bar. You can check to see if the trigger spring is broken. If it's not a broken trigger spring, it's probably time to get an armorer involved because something's wrong with the gun--there's no way that the trigger bar and connector should have worn out that fast.
