Got back from a gun show today and harvested a couple of M1-Garand videos. So far, I watched the 1st but not yet the 2nd. Anyway:
If you own a Garand. If you are "Garand-Challenged",...(like me ..then you will appreciate this video.
Actually, its a must.
It teaches you all sorts of nifty short-cuts and little tricks. Stuff you never knew before. How NOT to damage your Garand thru innocent mistakes and stuff like:
-how to properly stack bullets in a clip. Thus avoiding a "7th round malfunction".
-How to avoid that "Garand Thumb". Sooooo, simple
-I always thought that once I pushed a clip inside a Garand, I had to fire the whole clip before I could clear the weapon. Nope! This teaches you how to shoot just 3 rounds in a Garand with no problem.
-How to eject your (full) clip if their is a problem.
-Covers every device ever made for the Garand. Grenade launching devices. Different flash suppressors, you name it.
-Different butt plates.
-WW2 pull-thru cleaning rods for the butt-stock.
-WW2 cleaning solvents (the best) but VERY toxic??
-a "Winter-Trigger", snap-on and snap-off device.
-How to TOTALLY strip down your trigger assembly to pieces and many other parts.
.....and he makes it all look easy
Warning This video is 100 minutes long. It is a very Amatuer in quality.
Please bear that in mind.
The gentleman speaking on the video speaks in an *EXTREMELY* slow manner. As though hes talking to a brain-damaged 3 year old.
So, its painful to watch in one way,...but the information for Garand owners is very valuable on the other end of things.
I watched this video and thought that it could be cut in half if there was a more faster-speaking Narrator.
Charlton Heston?? or perhaps another professional Narrator. You pick.
Also, it would be a GREAT video if it had professional photography. Crystal-clear images ect.
Anyway, if you own a Garand, or want to swagger down your local rifle range. Looking like a Garand "Know-it-all". Get this video
