The barrel of my Garand(30-06)is finished.I'm thinking about buying a new .308 WIN barrel as surplus ammo for this cartridge is plentiful and cheap. What is involved with this conversion and will the rifle be as reliable as the original? Thanks.
I don't know if I found the discussion you meant,but I did find some good information.I'd like to know,however,if the conversion requires any modification to the magazine.Also, would a M-14 barrel need much work to be used in this modification?
