game camera how to keep warm ?

So it isn't the camera you are trying to keep warm, but the battery. The cost of the camera really doesn't matter, so the $500-1000 is moot, although it does mean that you are probably over spending.

You simply need the solar panel addition and batteries that recharge and you will get a much extended battery life.

If you install the G-cam on the west side of a PINE tree in the state of florida or a few others it will stay warm enuff...;):D

the test

You may be hunting too far north.
Use this test.
Go into the closest truck stop.
Ask for sweet tea.
If they bring it to you without any questions you are in the south.
If they tell you the sugar is on the table leave and drive south for atleast an hour and repeat. Keep it up until the waitress says something like "Sure Hun"
Now you are in the south and the camera should work.
Don't bring any snow plows or shovels you won't need them.

I know how I am going to do it in Colorado to get that lion picture.

Buy a long life handwarmer pack at Sportsmans or Walmart, and start it when setting up.

I will make a foam rubber insulator so the heat is sent toward the camera.

What kind of batteries does it use? I understand Lithium batteries are much less cold-sensitive than alkaline batteries. Lithium batteries are made in common sizes like AA, but are also more expensive than regular alkalines.
