Galil Info

Thanks-

I've been wondering if you can assemble one on a receiver with the US parts to make it 922(r) legal. Anyone ever heard of this?

Legally, I don't see why not.

Practically, I know of no US parts to bring it into compliance, so you've have to design and make those yourself.

Somebody had Galil .223 post ban receivers for $350 not long ago. They also had Galil parts kits. Just the price of the parts kit and receiver would run about $1100. That's a lot of money, considering you haven't even started to put the thing together or make the US parts.

Yeah, there are actually quite a few people who have assembled "post-ban" Galils with the receivers and parts kits recently imported. They pin the folder open, use muzzle brakes and enough U.S. parts to be legal.

As Destructo6 said, they usually end up costing around a grand or more.

Do AK fire control parts fit and function properly in a Galil? Boy, that would make things pretty easy. Do you know what type are compatible with a .223 Galil?
