Galco SOB holster?

I have found a SOB holster to be the most uncomfortable rig I have ever used. I just can't seem to find a comfortable way to sit when wearing the thing. Decent concealment, but not worth the discomfort.
Just my opinion.

I get asked to make SOB holsters quite a bit... My response is usually to try and sway them toward other options. IMHO, SOB carry is generally a bad idea for a number of reasons.

That said, it works for some people. My best advice would be to TRY before you buy (if that's a possibility).

I generally avoid SOB holsters... as LEO we were advised to NEVER put cuffs/anything hard in the SOB area because if you fall on it you can injure your spine/tailbone.

I bought one to try out as I am not a type of person to promote or discourage others based on information I read online. This is not for everyone and especially not for those that have high probability of getting into physical altercations on daily basis.
Concealment and reach is very good as well as retention, but this will vary on how you dress and physical type as you are reaching all the way back bent forward.

Every type of holster has specific use. Just like there is not a jack of all trades gun, you need to identify why you need one and decide.

I use the Galco SOB for a Sig P220 Carry - not sitting in the car, or at the kitchen table, or at the computer desk. I use it when walking the dogs, hiking with the wife, and for all non-sitting carry.

Don't even know it's there, and the wife likes to put her arm around me and check to make sure I have it.

I like mine. Easier to draw then the MOB-IWB........

I'll second that, I see new guys carry cuffs in the small of their back all the time and try to convince them not to. I've never actually seen anyone get hurt doing it, but why risk it. I imagine the odds of actually falling on it are very small but if you did I suspect you'd be in a great deal of pain and it could potentially take you out of the fight pretty quick.
