I'm looking at 3 Galco holsters fpr my 92FS and wonder if any pf you have any experience with any of them.
1) Combat Master @ $68
2) Concealable @ $89.95
3) Avenger @ $87
They seem a bit pricey, but I know they make a good product and I expect to use it for many, many yrs.
Any input will be helpful.
Thanks.

Why are they NOT your first choice?
I thought they were top shelf?
The Sparks are a bit high for me.
I don't think I need to spend $100+on a holster.

The Boat, Galco does make good quality stuff, it is true (I have several holsters from them), but, as you say they are pricey for what you get. Galco is a mass producer, not a custom maker. My suggestion, unless you are in a terrible hurry for the holster, would be to look at some of the many custom holster makers out there--for example, Kramer, Mernickle, Sparks, or Rosen--and have them make you a holster that is fitted precisely to your handgun. You'll find that the cost of a custom holster is not much more (maybe $20-$30) than a Galco, and they are virtually lifetime investments. You'll actually end up spending less money in the long run. The Beretta 92 is a very common handgun, so all of the custom makers have molds for the piece.

I have been at this "gun" business for a long, long time and my experience with Galco is they are inordinately expensive for the quality you get. Please note that I am not knocking the quality of their product - just the too high prices they charge for their product. You can do better elsewhere.

Let's see if I can help here. All three are nice & good choices and you might want to purchase all three...
COMBAT MASTER. This generally doesn't come with the amount of work curving the holster as much. The tan finish may not be as costly, either, vs. the Havana Brown on the Concealable model. This comes with a larger 1.75" belt loop, which you may or may not need.

CONCEALABLE. This has more curvature built-in at the factory, which may account for a higher price. This also comes in a nice "Havana Brown" finish, besides black, which is nice. The belt loops are at 1.5", which may be all you need, I don't know. A very nice holster, I'd say near equal to any long-lead-time custom maker.

AVENGER. Also a classic straight-up design with no cant. Many holster makers offer this style, too. Galco, again, has a relatively high quality built into its products. You might find this one slightly easier to re-holster with that reinforced top lip. This holster also comes w/1.75" belt loops and should work well with any good, rigid, holster belt. I like the idea of that adjustable retention screw. Re-holstering is very important to me (as I'd have to be able to go into handcuffing mode quickly) so I'd choose this one out of the three.

For me, I'll usually use leather for the thumb-break, but my work exposes me to the public a bit more, on occasion. Mostly for open top work, I use Kydex/plastic/synthetic. Galco has great products and I can't see you being sorry with any of those choices you've already selected.

Agree. Lots of custom makers are comparable in price, with better quality. I can only speak to the High Ride Concealable rigs, and all three of mine became loose with use, one to the point of being unuseable. They rely on tight fight to retain the gun, and what tight fit there was didn't last long.

I Have A Brand New Galco Cm202b combat master Holster That I Bought For A 96f.
Hated The Gun & Traded It For A P229 About A Month Later. Since I Was'nt Getting Any Deals On The Trade I Kept The Holster.
Brand New Never Used. If Your Interested Let Me Know.

not my first choice

Preference; I prefer other holsters (Milt Sparks) normally.

That said, I wear my 1911's concealed using a Galco Royal Guard; I often compete in USPSA/IPWSC with Galco Yaqui Slides (I own-n-use three, one left-handed) except I consider these unsuitable for wear unless one uses the 'thumb-break' models.

I keep a couple Yaqui Slides in my purse so I can stick most any gun in something.........

When I lived in Chicago I bought a Jackass Leather Company shoulder holster for my 4" Security Six; 1977?
Loyalist still.......know what I mean?

Take a look at Blade Tech holsters, I have almost switched over entirely to their IWB holsters. They are a LOT more comfortable than you think they will be, very secure, and at about $60 a bargain.

I have quite a few Galco leather holsters, ALL of them bought lightly used for about half price. VERY nice holsters that hold up well, but at full retail I would go with a Rosen, Sparks et al.

Try Ebay

Check out Ebay. I just picked up a brand new Galco concealed carry paddle (list $99.95) for $33 + $8 shipping- Hard to beat that bargain. Of course, not everything is available right when you want it, but check frequently as new items pop up all the time.

I used many Galco holsters over the years. There decent holsters but a bit over priced.I now use Milt Sparks rigs which is by far superior to Galco and really not much more expensive. My favs are the 55BN and 60TK.The big problem with custom rigs is the wait. There are companies like http://www.lightningarms.com/products.htm that stock some custom stuff like MS and Alessi. You might check and see what they have available.
