G30 or G36?

I'm considering a compact/subcompact .45 for my collection to go along with my Sig P220. I like the G30, but dang it sure is fat for a "compact". I understand that the G36 is supposed to be thinner. Has anyone actually seen a 36? I'm waiting for my FFL to get one in so I can make a side by side comparison. And does anyone know what the SMRP is for the 36?
Thanks,
Bill

Good luck getting the G36. Hopefully we will still be allowed to purchase handguns in America by the time these things a readily available.

Gallery of Guns has 2 of them listed one with Night Sights for $805 and one without for $700.

The ability to obtain a good firing grip on the pistol is vital. I would love to be able to carry a Glock 30, but it is just too wide for my hand. C'est la vie.

I just bought a G30 to compliment my G21. It's not too fat for my hand and is extremely accurate. I just can't see a seven-shot Glock for concealment. I'd rather have a good small-frame revolver. I don't have any problem concealing my G30.

I've got a trigger pull of about 3 3/8 lbs., Trijicons, Wolff guide rod and 19# springs. Got a .400 Cor-Bon barrel on the way.

Get the 30. It's not THAT chunky, and if I can conceal my 229, I can conceal the 30 I hope to pick up today or tomorrow (celebrating Glock's refusal to bend over).

More importantly, the 30 exists. Right now, the 36 is like Bigfoot . . . I've seen photos and heard people talk about it but it's still a legend to me.

Get the Glock 30. By the time the 36 is available to the civilian market, you'll have more than enough rounds through your 30 AND have enough saved up for the 36.

I got sick of waiting for a 36 and gave in to my phobia that the 30 was too fat. The more I handled it, the more I got used to it. Finally gave in and picked up a LNIB 30 w/ Trijicons for 425.00. I'm sure that price had a lot to do with it but now I'm wondering what the heck took me so long to get one. I seem to have no problems with larger guns now(just got a Beretta 92G Elite last week). I owe it all to my 30 :)
