G3 purchase question.

I just got back from a store that has peaked my interest. They have four G3 types rifles hanging on the wall and I saw one that might fall into my price range. It was a Century Receiver that looked clean with all the furniture seeming to be in the right place. While I did not do a very thorough inspection, I thought that this rifle had promise. I have been doing some research and have found Springfield armory and FMP are probably the best receivers to go with. Century seemed to be lower down on the list but this could be simply because the SA costs as much as $500 more. This Century was going at $865. Like I said I didn't do a through inspection but looked at it and ran my fingers along it a few times. I need to hear form some Century owners out there and about there level of satisfaction with their rifles.

Cost?
Reliability?
accuracy?
function?
Century Service?

All those things would be good to hear about.

Thanks a bunch.

Century can be a hit or a very wide miss. Take a close look at the individual one your interested. Ask of the store has ANY servicing policy in case of trouble.

I've never handled a Century G3, but I have handled plenty of HK G3s to know that it is one of the FINEST battle rifles ever made. TOP THREE for sure.
And thats a 3 way tie BTW. In No Order:
M14
FAL
G3
Not a bad choice in the trio.

I would suggest having your G3 built for you. The Hesse arms recievers are supposed to be just like the 91 used and there are parts kits around that are very good. I used a gunsmith listed in Shotgun News (the best in the midwest?)and was really pleased with the FAL he built.
I have looked at Century Arms guns for a while and I think that you would be rolling the dice.
