i went to the range to test this two well made handguns and here
is my personal evaluations.
i shot both handguns alternately 10 rounds at a time.
i have notice that both handguns are excellent and each has its own merits. the p99 shot very well leaving one ragged hole using the same ammo as the g19. the only thing i
notice was that the trigger has alot of take-up even in single action mode. so it takes a little getting use to. once you get use to the feel all your shots are easily placed. ergonomics was great
it felt really good in my hands. recoil was a less than the g19
with a little more muzzle flip.
the G19 shot its best with the same ammo keeping my groups
together but not as good as the p99.the trigger was better (3.5 lbs)
with more consistency to each pull (minimal take-up). recoil was more but muzzle flip was almost non existent compared to the walther. the G19 can be shot faster than the walther because of
its grip angle and consistent trigger.
overall i do like both and i will be purchasing another p99 for
my wife for home defense. but the Glock 19 will still remain in
my armory. if you like the G19 you will easily appreciate the p99
a scale from 1 to 10 i give the p99 a 10+ in style ,ergonomics and
accuracy. the g19 i give a 10+ in consistency ,speed (a no nonsense handgun that can deliver fast accurate shots.
happy shooting and thank good this forum is back ...
