Funny (kinda dumb) story abt. .38 spl.

About 10 years ago, a friend of mine liked to load HOT. He had a pet .38 load that arrived at the target at almost the same time you heard the bang.

(He used a K-38 SA N I C E target revolver and made me cringe.)

One day he took some new loads out that he had loaded with lead bullets. The target was an abandoned van that had rolled down a cliff.

Fairly soon, he was MISSING the van. I asked to see the gun and the lead was, I kid you not, at least 15% of the bore.

He finally got it out after HOURS of lead removal. I think he was using 2400 and loading nearly .357 stats.
 
On the other end of the spectrum I once went out to shoot an ancient S&W Police Positive. Kind of a 39special short. We were shooting at a galvanized steel trash can and I kid you not... the bullets bounced OFF the thing. I was standing 20 yards from the can and I felt something hit me and it was one of the slugs that had bounced off and landed in my shirt pocket!
