Funnel fo 300 wsm

Went to charge my first 300 wsm and noticed neck is too short for funnel to fit tight. Let's powder flow outside th neck of the case. Single stage loading with each charge weighed. Any idea if there is a different funnel for this caliber or do I need to melt one to fit as I saw on Google. I'm sure someone has to make something as this isn't the only short caliber out there.
 
The funnels have a shield on the outside. To make mine work better I just shortened the outside shield so that the cases with a shorter neck fit right. just took a sharpie to mark it and a hack saw to cut it.
 
Mines a Lee funnel. May be the issue. I just ordered some bullets and a trimmer and a set of funnels from Midway. If one doesn't work I'll saw it as earlier stated. Didn't realize the necks were so short on the wsm.
 
I had that issue with some RUM cases and my funnels. I managed to fit up a .243 case necked to .270 and cut it off right behind the shoulder with a cut off disc. It fit the funnel perfectly and allowed the powder to flow right into the necks of the big cases.

Probably would have been easier to modify the funnel but i didn't think of it at the time. LOL Besides I needed to use that old case for something besides scrap anyway.
 
I bought a funnel set a while back - can't remember where or the brand name, but it has a couple of different funnels with some inserts that the funnel goes into that are different diameters, lengths and degrees of pitch for various rifle cases. I had to tinker around to find the right combo for the .300 - that short neck is just short enough to render the normal one that works in every other rifle case unusable.
 
There are a few tools that won't work well with the WSM line. I had to modify my RCBS funnel, get a new collet for my kinetic bullet puller and if you deprime prior to resizing make sure to get a depriming die that fits WSM. I enjoy my WSM though so it was not that big a deal to me and now it seems more and more equipment is made with the WSM in mind.
 
Kind of made me worry a little. I just ordered a ss pin tumbler magnet and dryer from Midway. Should be here next week. I had a universal Lee de primer. It did deprime ok. I ordered some multi funnel kit but if it doesn't work out I'm going to get a good saw cut on a 243 case. The neck fits inside and my funnel will fit over it. I just need to Saw the back off the 243 case.
