Fund Raiser for Officer Parsons

MAD DOG

New member
These forums are here to support the Tactical, Shooting and Law Enforcement community. I think that means more than just logging on to chat, it means actually doing something when a valued member of our community is in desperate need.

Officer Parsons was decorated as Orange County's Officer of the year. He is now in a coma after being hit by a vehicle while on duty. He and his family are in our thoughts and prayers, but we want to do more.

MD Labs/Mad Dog Knives and Tactical Forums are stepping up to the plate to do what we can to demonstrate that we care, to show Officer Parsons' family that the people at Tactical Forums (a sister site to the Firing Line) care.

I am going to make a custom 7"-10" knife for the purpose of raising a donation to give to the Parson Family from ALL of us here at Tactical Forums. This will be an entirely new knife design numbered #001 (for those of you who like a numbered knife). I will work on it as soon as I get back from Africa. We will post pictures of it as soon as possible, but please don't wait until then to buy your tickets. The retail value of such a knife would be between $700.00 and $1000.00 ($100 per blade inch).
Why not plan to set aside $5.00 a week to buy a ticket? It's a small amount that would really add up over the next 3 months.

We will raffle the knife off and donate ALL of the proceeds of that raffle to the Parsons Family. I will keep you posted on Tactical Forums as to the accumulation of the proceeds. http://www.tacticalforums.com

Proceeds will be sent to the Parsons family as they come in, in roughly $100.00 increments. We will NOT be sitting on the money until the raffle date.

The numbered tickets will sell for $5.00 each. The raffle ticket sale will continue until October 1, 2000. At this time we will have the drawing. The selection will be made by a local LEO.

Please, let us all show our support for Officer Parsons and his family. Buy several tickets if you can, and be sure to let everyone you know about this fund raiser.

Thank you all,
Mad Dog

Mad dog;
Are you going to have any of the raffle tickets at any shops in The Prescott,PV area?

We are still working out the distribution of the tickets.
We will post as they become available.
Stay tuned for details.
Thank you for your interest.

Was listening to the news on the way home . I THINK they said he had died . Please check but I was in the middle of traffic and it "snuck" up on me . The area he was in is notorious for old people that should not be driving . Again , please check . I HOPE I'm wrong .

We will continue the raffle as planned for the sake of his family.
Please remember that he supported a wife and two small children, ages six and three.
They have now been left fatherless.

A third party will be responsible for collecting ticket money and distributing tickets for the drawing. We will keep you posted as distribution arrangements are finalized.
Thank you,
Mad Dog

PS: Please note that my wife will be handling the rest of this while I am away, and she may be posting under my registaration here from time to time. Her's does not seem to work properly for some reason.

At MD Labs' request, Street Smart will be handling the raffle logistics and donating ALL proceeds directly to the Parsons family. The drawing will be held October 24, 2000 and the winning number will be drawn by a fellow Orange County Deputy Sheriff.

Raffle tickets for the custom Mad Dog will be $5.00 each, and we will mail your raffle ticket directly to your address.

Please send your donation with a LEGIBLE return address and the words RAFFLE TICKET on the note and we will send you your ticket(s).

I am not surprised at all. You may wonder what I am talking about? Already, many kind words of encouragement and contributions to the raffle are coming in. This is what I have come to expect of the fine people on these forums. On behalf of myself and the Parsons family, I would like to express my deepest gratitude to those who have taken a moment of their life to help those in need.
