IMI, the most important aspect of a carry gun is reliability. Put it through it's paces as it is. See what kind, if any, malfunctions occur and go from there. About the only parts I would replace are the sights, the thumb safety and the trigger. I like an extended safety and I have big hands so I need a long trigger. I shot a 1911 .38Super this morning with the old military style trigger in it and I like to not found it. Another item you might look at is the mainspring housing. The shape of the housing can make a big difference in point shooting. I use an arched housing but that causes some folks to shoot low. There is the flat of course and the Wedge which is sort of the middle ground. George
