went to the woods with the boy and some mausers today. mild rain most of the day, but So worth it !!
the boy was shooting his 1931 Spanish, 1916 pattern carbine in 7x57 and I, my 1941 German M98k in 8x57.
I just love these old guns, not state of the art, just plain Jane shootin irons, they get the job done without a lot of fanfare, and hit like a ton of bricks, awesome!! :D

Awesome! Glad you are handing your passion down to the next generation.

The military Mauser is still a great choice for an all-round, do-everything rifle. Every gun enthusiast should have at least one.

Nice! Mauser = Fun :D

My '43 BYF, 200 yard MOA with good ammo and a solid rest

I'm not a fan of sporterizing military rifles at all....But I REALLY like that stock on your Boy's '31:cool:

Hey BerdanSS

Yeah I'm with ya, the original stock was already chopped & padded when we got it, so sent off to Boyd's for that one , he really likes it. We also have a 1932 Spanish 1893 model, that's original with the 29-1/2" barrel, that one's a hoot too!! That BYF is a beaut !!
