Like most of you I'm sure we all get bored quickly with punching holes in paper. I can take about ten minutes of that and then I'm ready for some good reactive targets. I've been useing potatoes and charcoal lately, both cheap and very reactive when struck. What fun targets do you use? Fleiger

Here at my house we go through lots of 12 ounce plastic soda bottles. Take them, fill them to the top, till you get surface tension, screw the cap on tight and hit it with hollow point ammo....SPLASH! Apples are fun too. A .22 will blow 'em up, then that night the deer and whatever else lives at my range will come out of the woods and chow down.

Reactive Targets

Oreos and Ritz crackers.

Wanna get fancy - tape em to popsicle sticks. Push the sticks into the ground and put 2 lines of a dozen each starting at 10 yd out to 25. Fastest time gets treated to lunch. Police the sticks and the fauna will take care of the rest.

Computers, Old Cell Phones, Old Pagers, Pretty Much Any Old Technology That I Spent Lots Of Money On That Is Now Worthless!

Also at work we have a plotter printer(big printer for big paper) and we have to where ID badges so you can find someones mug shot on the network and print out there badge picture and go to the range with that. Its definitly a head turner when you just clip up some random persons face and send it down range and start blasting away at it.

charcoal is good for relatively close work. chalupas (fried whole tortillas) are good at longer distance.

If you can find them, wound core golf balls aren't half bad to shoot (they explode in a mass of rubber bands). There's a thing called 'The Block' its a plastic cube made for the express purpose of being a reactive target. Its rather fun to shoot. Cans of stale beer are also nice.
