Fun Gun

My wife's been asking me what I want for our anniversary and I've been thinking about a about stainless steel Ruger Vaquero in .45 (long) Colt with a 4 & 5/8 inch barrel -- it would mostly be used for "fun" shooting and maybe against any alligators that might wander into fenced in backyard.

The exact gun I own, in stainless with wood grips. You can get plastic ivory ones. I love it, but I use it for quick draw contests, but left it so you can still shoot live ammo. I honestly have only put half a box of live ammo through it, but can't complain. Having seen it now, I would also sugguest you get the one with the 45 acp conversion cylinders too. Haven't tried it, just saw it and thought it would be cool.

Ed,

My wife bought me a similar revolver for x-mas, two years ago. It's a Bisley Vaquero with the 5.5" barrel. Fun factor is very high!!!

As soon as my son gets my targets scanned you'll be able to see them at the PPA site.

I also shot a target with the .45 acp cylinder in my .45 Convertable with the 4.625" barrel. Accurate guns are the most fun...

Go NRA

See if you can find a Bisley model. I like the grip on them much better and it gives better control.

I think the Bisley model is better is debatable (sp) but do look at both before buying. They just started coming out with those after I got my vaquaro so I ran out to see if they were better. I think the vaquaro is a better point and shoot gun. But it may just be me.
