FTF Firearms Transactions regarding non-residents of your state

Yes it is illegal to do FTF. Must go through an FFL, but that doesn't mean it has to be shipped.

EDITED: must go through FFL in BUYER's state.

This is of course unless state laws are more strict than federal in your area. Check, double check and triple check.

Call an FFL in your state to ask them.

Ok i'm glad I know this now!!!

<-- feels stupid.

Well guess I'll have to convince him to meet me here at an FFL. one that won't charge me out the ass for a transfer lol.

If the firearms are long guns, you can do the transfer at a FFL in his state. Only handguns must go through a FFL in your state.

Long arms can be in either state under the federal rules.
If in the seller's state all the laws of the buyer's state must ALSO be followed.

Handguns MUST go through an FFL i the buyer's state.

The old 'adjacent state' laws have been replaced at the federal level, but some states still have them in effect.
