Frozen Shells

I was thinking of leaving my ammo in my trunk. The temp here in MI is quite cold.

Does anyone know if cold exposure can effect the effectiveness of shells?

Thanks,
Michael

You can get a good argument going at any range on this,Mike, but....

The technical guys mention velocity drops in shells kept in freezers on the order of 50-100 fps. Since best ammo varies up to 50 FPS shot to shot from one box, this may be so minor as to not warrant any concern.

I noted that zeroing a slug gun in temps from the mid 20s to mid 90s has no change in POI that I can pinpoint. I doubt there's that much change in shotshells, except for either very light loads or very heavy ones.On the extremes, variance produces more changes.

IOW, probably not....
