Have a chance to go to Frontsight for the basic 2 day handgun class in November. I have never been to a class like this and know nothing about Frontsight. I do know that I am not interested in lectures dealing with the legalities of concealed carry, use of deadly force etc. I want shooting instruction and range time. What does Frontsight deliver? For those that have been, would you go again? Thanks.

Regards,
Frank

I took their Uzi class, and was impressed with their professionalism and the quality of instruction. Don't have experience with their handgun class, but I'll take another class there someday ... impressive school, and an impressive concept.

Check out their real estate development while you're there ... neat deal, and I hope they succeed.

It's an excellent class. However, you get the same lectures in the 2 day class as you would in the 4, and they definitely deal with "the legalities of concealed carry, use of deadly force etc." In the 2 day class, you'll only spend half the time on the range.

I've been to the 2, and the 4 day classes, and I'm planning to take the 4 day again.

If you search for Front Sight, you should find some more reports.

Once you get on the range, their courses cover a lot of ground and are well organized. I took their 4-day handgun course and the 2-day follow-up "skill builder" class (which was all range time). Without a doubt, both courses improved my shooting ability.

If I were going to take an entry-level 2-day class, I would start with their "defensive" handgun course; from the description on their website, the "basic" course sounds really basic. I would also buy a certificate so you don't have to pay full price for the course (I've seen ads on some of the other forums for certificates at half the price of course tuition). The courses are overpriced in my opinion.

Would I go again? Yes, I'm planning to take their 2-day rifle class sometime soon. Before I took another handgun course, though, I would like to go to some of the other schools first.

You can read some about my experiences at Front Sight at http://www.netcitizen.org/FrontSight.html

Definitely buy a certificate, check out the auctions. If you can't find one, let me know, I have friends that have them for sale.

FS prices are higher than other schools, and from reports I have heard, all the top schools are good. I can only speak personally about FS. Most everything I have to say is on my web page.
