The Wilson/Scattergun rifle front epoxies over the front base.

You MAY need to remove the bead, and for added security, you can drill a hole sideways through the new sight and the original base and cross pin it.
This is apparently what Wilson does in their shop.

Here's a clamp-on band-type front sight that requires no gunsmithing to mount.
You do need to remove the old sight and base.

As for ghost ring sights, Remington uses the Wilson on the factory Police guns, and a lot of people like them.

Since you can epoxy the front sight on and it will match the Wilson rear, that might be the way to go.

Where you can get into trouble is mixing brands of front and rear sights.
If a front or rear is higher or lower than the other you may have trouble getting sighted in.

My Scattergun Tech/Wilson 870 Express Border Patrol Model has their front tritium sight epoxied and pinned over the front base, don't know if they had to remove the bead or not. Obviously, they also used their ghostring rear.
Good advice from DFaris on mixing brands.
