I just bought a used Sig 220 with nickle slide made in 1989. It seems to shoot fine although I only ran 30 rounds through it yesterday. I'm having a problem seeing the dot on the front sight because it is white and the sight is nickle giving poor contrast. I've seen in Cabelas some flourescent "paint" for sights. Is this a good idea or does anyone have any other recomendations. I would like a long term quality fix.
Also what is a good source for factory 8 round magazines?

OTIS:

You can obtain SIG factory 8 rd mags from SIGARMS. Their website is www.sigarms.com

CDNN is also a good source...1-800-588-9500.

Covering the white dot on your front sight with a spot of fluorescent paint is a good solution. If you want to spend more money, have a smith replace the front sight totally or have nickel slide stripped and blued.

Greetings; Under what lighting conditions
are you shooting? Sometimes when shooting
with bright sunlight behind you, that part
of the front sight reflecting the most sun
light will be illuminated more. For example,
with direct sunlight behind your right shoulder say at 11 o'clock; the right side of the front sight will be illuminated
more and vice versa. If, the sunlight is
at 2 o'clock, the left side of the front
sight would be illuminated more. Hope
this helps some.
