Front sight fell of SUPER BLACKHAWK (Someone tell me the thickness?)

The front blade sight broke off! The pin and everything is still there, but the blade gave way. I don't know where the blade is, but I saw it when it broke. At the time, I had stepped on it(the break was sharp), and I thought it to be a piece of scrap... and now its gone..

What can I do before Saturday to get this fixed? I had planned on fitting a new one, but I don't have the stuff to do that at the moment...

Quick, paypal me 500 dollars :D

I like the sights currently, I was GOING to file myself a new one, but I havn't gotten a friend to cut the piece yet...

Hey, I'm going to call a local machine shop and see if they can cut me a piece of steel..

I'm at work right now though, so I can't check the thickness. Can someone check the front sight thickness on their Ruger New Model Super Blackhawk, with a pair of callipers?

Blade .12, base.37, length of base 1.365, length of blade .75, blade hight .35 front, .15 rear........all in inches hope this helps.........

I called 2-3 different places, and they all want 10-15 bucks for the rough piece, and I would have to file it to fit..

That, and I don't have that much.. and when I asked dad, he said he'd pay for a new Ruger sight, not a piece of scrap that costs 2-3 times more. :(

it actually broke off. The hole the pin went threw SNAPPED clean. The pin is still intact.

I just now found the sight, and yeah. I think it was this way before I bought it, 'cause I snapped it back in and woila, its stuck there for the time being. Holstering it must've caused it to finally pop out. Since its still broken, I ordered a new one. You can see that the area was worn thin were the sight was, so. I'll post a pic after saturday ;). This one will work for Saturday, provided it doesn't fly off while shooting.

I've had the gun for 3 years, though untill recently, I'd only put the average factory loads through it. Been trying some 300 gr ones at 1300FPS(a load a friend does), and those are pretty stout.
