Look what UPS dropped off today!

Got my Can of 7.62x54R from Cheaper than Dirt today, came straight home from drivers ed and found it in the car port :D. It's 1973 manufacture 147 grain Light Ball Steel Core from the Klimov/Novobrisk factory.

It looks so cool, I don't even want to open it! :D

Hope you got the can opener with it,
Its not an easy can to open. I bought a case with 2 cans from the same place last winter and all of it looks like it was just made.
The can is neat but what's inside is much better so open that sucker and go kill some paper.

I have used the can opener that comes from Russia, but I have found that a hammer with a 3/4" and a 2" wide cold chisel is much easier and faster.
You use the 3/4 chisel to go around the corners. Use it like a shear, starting with a corner and advancing the chisel at about a 60 degree angle.

I can take the top off a Russian can in about 20 seconds with these tools
Try them; you'll like them better than the can-opener.

ozzie... the can opener is clearly pictured next to the can.
one trick you could look up in the event that you lose the can opener is to set up upside down on a concrete sidewalk and slide the can back and forth on the concrete. this will actually grind the brim off and the lid comes right off... plouffedaddy, has a video showing this.

Opened the can last night. The ammo looks beautiful. Copper washed and everything. I've never had any ammo with painted tips, but I have had ammo from this factory and it shot very well. Once the range is set up, I'll start posting pictures of targets.
