Seems Like An
Exercise In Futility

The ban expires at midnight, eastern time, on Sept.13, 2004.

Al-Qaida training manuals reportedly urge sleepers who make their way into the United States to obtain assault-style weapons.

The infamous "gun show" loophole raises the specter of terrorists, criminals or psychopaths buying assault-style weapons with no background checks.
Terrorists are coming to the US to purchase semi-automatic AKs with thumbhole stocks at gun shows? What an idiot.
Actually, no weapon belongs on the street. At a rifle range, or in the woods during hunting season? Yes. But stuck in a back pocket, in a holster under a jacket, or concealed in a purse or briefcase? No. That's just a recipe for disaster. As personal protection, guns seem to cause more problems than they solve.
What an idiot x2.

Regarding the newspaper editorial, try writing a Letter To The Editor. They might publish it, they might not, though someone will likely read it, and possibly think about whatever it was that you said. I sent one, and some of my Letters have been published, perhaps not all that many, but some.

If guns cause more problems than they solve, the government of the City of York should turn in their guns.

Chief Wiggum, send them to me. Here in Indiana, guns cause no problems as they are just mechanical devices here. Maybe only on the East Coast that guns receive a soul of neverending Eeevil.
